That includes North Minneapolis and nearby Northside neighborhoods (Near North, Hawthorne, Jordan, Willard-Hay, Camden), Northeast Minneapolis, Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, Brooklyn Center, Crystal, New Hope, Columbia Heights, Como, Powderhorn, St. Louis Park, and parts of Roseville and Fridley. Who does the plumbing and electrical?
This is a great question and completely up to you!
I handle the remodel carpentry and finish scope. Licensed plumbing and electrical are done by the respective licensed trades. I can introduce you to people I trust, or you can hire your own. We coordinate so the job stays organized.
What will my remodel cost?
Pricing in remodel varies greatly depending on the project.
My goal is to be as up front and honest as possible while working in your home and my estimates reflect that.
I've done projects that are a simple shower install for $3,000 and full kitchen remodels for $10,000+
Are you a local contractor or a big company?
Owner-operated local remodel business. You will be in direct communication with me, Carson, not a call-center crew or project manager who isn't on site every day.
Do you take small jobs or only full gut remodels?
Ideal projects are full-size kitchen and bath remodels in older homes. Smaller jobs are still welcome when the scope is clear and timing works, they often fill the gaps between larger remodels. Send a quick description or photos. I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s something I should take on.
What should I send for a faster estimate?
Address and zip code, kitchen or bathroom with specifications, photos, and any deadline will invariably speed up the reply.
How soon can you start?
Schedule depends heavily on the season and prior bookings. Once a job is set it will never be pushed for another project, regardless of size.
How long does a normal project take?
As above, each remodel is different, however depending on your ambition it could take anywhere from weeks to months.
In the same examples a shower install could take a week and a full kitchen remodel a full month.
What kind of insurance do you carry?
North End Remodel carries $1 million in coverage. Day-to-day issues on site are addressed to your satisfaction under the contract.
Can I stay in my house during the remodel?
Usually yes. Most projects are one room (or one floor) at a time, with the work area protected and kept as clean as practical so you can keep living at home.
What is a contingency fund?
A contingency fund is only used on larger projects, jobs that have multiple trades, days, or weeks in them. There is often about 10% set aside for unexpected items common in older homes (extra materials, hidden repairs). Unused contingency is returned at the end.
